High Point neighbors fight to keep current addresses

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — A dozen households in a High Point neighborhood say the city notified them that their address will change, some for the second time in the past five years, because of a new build on their street.

Twelve homes on Marywood Drive got a letter from the city in June notifying them their address will be changing with a new assigned number effective Sept. 1. The city cited that a new home being built up the street is forcing the change.

According to the city, the postmaster does not allow for half numbers or letter designations to work the house in without impacting the rest of the street.
