The former Prairie Elementary School site was sold to a local businessman who is a planning a significant upgrade of the property.
Lee Venable, the former owner of Cajun Palms RV Resort in St. Martin Parish, closed on a deal to buy the 22-acre site at 2910 Ambassador Caffery Parkway for $2 million from the Lafayette Parish School Board, land records show.
