Teenagers arrested in deadly shooting of passenger in Denver

DENVER (KDVR) — Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting around 11 p.m. on August 6 that left a 19-year-old dead.

The Denver Police Department initially responded to the shooting incident around 11:02 p.m. on August 6 for a shots-fired call in the 4100 block of West Custer Place.

Officers arriving on scene reported a car had struck a parked vehicle, with nobody in the driver’s seat; however, police found the victim, since identified as 19-year-old Maikel Mavo, in the passenger seat suffering from gunshot wounds.

Mavo was pronounced dead at the scene, and officials said that throughout the investigation, it became apparent that Mavo had been lured to the scene in relation to a possible prior dispute with the three suspects…
