Sentencing for sex-abusing Portland foot doctor postponed after ‘serious medical situation’ left him unconscious

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The sentencing for a Portland foot doctor who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing multiple patients was postponed on Friday after he reportedly suffered a serious medical event and was taken to the hospital.

Brian Bowen, 52, formerly of Eastside Foot and Ankle, was earlier convicted of first-degree sexual abuse in a bench trial before pleading guilty last month to 10 counts of third-degree sexual abuse and two counts of abuse by fraudulent representation.

Bowen was scheduled to be sentenced on Friday. However, according to a spokesperson for the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, it was revealed during open court that he had what the judge described as a “serious medical situation” that left him hospitalized, intubated and unconscious.
