BUFORD, Ga. — Buford High School senior Bailey Bortak has been named a Top 30 finalist for the Georgia Cheer Coaches Association’s Cheerleader of the Year award.
The honor recognizes more than athletic talent. Finalists are evaluated on their academics, school and community involvement, performance skills and ability to handle pressure.
For Bortak, the recognition reflects years of dedication to the sport. She began cheerleading at age 5 and has competed with Buford’s varsity competition cheerleading program for three years.
