MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) – Dangerous weather conditions are hitting Middle Tennessee as the National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville issued an Extreme Heat Warning for Rutherford County.
The warning remains in effect through 7 PM Sunday (August 16th). Forecasters warn that temperatures in the upper 90s to 100s combined with high humidity will create dangerous heat index readings up to 110 degrees. The extreme heat increases the risk of heat-related illnesses for anyone spending extended time outdoors without proper hydration.
