Popular NJ cafe allowed to reopen, for now

VERONA, N.J. (PIX11) — La Bella Princess Cafe in Verona, New Jersey, is back open – at least temporarily.

The mother-daughter owners of La Bella, Martha Peralta and Karissa Teixeira, reached an agreement with the Township of Verona to temporarily reopen while they apply for a use variance. The cafe must be open to the public at least 25 hours per week, five days a week.

“I think that they realized that we’re a positive asset to the community,” said Peralta. “We fought very hard, and luckily, we’re here. We’re back open.”

In July, the township ordered the princess-themed party venue and cafe to close for not complying with zoning laws. The township claims the zoning officer who issued the business a permit in 2023 did not have the authority to do so…
