1 arrested for allegedly trying to disarm officer after fight breaks out in downtown Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A man was arrested during a downtown nightclub brawl after police say he tried to disarm an officer.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the fight erupted outside of a club along the 100 block of Tejon Street around 2 a.m. As police tried to break up the fight and detain the people involved, a bystander allegedly shoved an officer working crowd control.

“[The suspect] shoved an officer attempting to keep the crowd back from the other officers involved in the initial fight,” CSPD said. “This subject was taken to the ground and resisted the officer detaining him. During this struggle, the subject grabbed and pulled at the officer’s holstered handgun.”…
