PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — You could travel near and far to find some of the best Mexican food in the U.S., but The New York Times has determined Oregon holds some of the top spots.
On Thursday, the daily newspaper published a list of 41 national standouts for Mexican dining — and two of them are located in Portland.

The New York Times recognized Ki’ikibáa on 3244 NE 82nd Ave. It said the family-owned restaurant’s burritos have their own fanbase, but the entirety of the menu is worth ordering. The publication specifically highlighted the Yucatecan specialties from Chef Manny Lopez.
“The panuchos and salbutes are great topped with any of the options, but the cochinita pibil, citrusy slow-roasted pork, should be the first move,” NYT wrote. “The relleno negro and menudo soups aren’t always available, but if they are, make sure to get both.”…
