ELM GROVE, La. — Cleanup continues after an Aug. 13 grade-crossing collision and derailment that killed a truck driver and sent two CPKC crew members to the hospital.
KTBS-TV reports three locomotives and 21 railcars derailed after the train collided with the truck at the grade crossing of U.S. Route 71 and Smith Road. The incident occurred about 5 p.m. A CPKC representative told the station that the crew members were “okay” but were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
KSLA-TV reports truck driver Andrew Morrow, 29, of Ruston, La., was pronounced dead at the scene, while KTAL-TV reports police said they were unable to determine if Morrow was wearing a seatbelt because of the severity of the crash…
