SHREVEPORT, La. – Shreveport garbage collection routes are running behind as the city deals with a shortage of qualified commercial driver’s license holders.
Mayor Tom Arceneaux said the city is currently short 11 CDL drivers. The city aims to have about 40 garbage trucks operating each week but is currently able to put about 30 on the road.
Arceneaux said residents’ regular garbage collection days have not changed. Residents should continue putting garbage at the curb on their normal collection day…
