KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Knoxville Pipes & Drums have made history on the global stage, becoming the first-ever pipe band from the state of Tennessee to compete at the prestigious World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.
Representing East Tennessee, the local musicians joined thousands of performers from across the globe for the massive two-day event.
A Historic Run on a Global Stage
The World Pipe Band Championships took place on Aug. 14 and 15, 2026, at the historic Glasgow Green in Glasgow, Scotland.
The competition brought over 8,000 musicians representing more than 200 bands from multiple nations.
