HARVEST, Ala. (WHNT) — The Alabama Department of Corrections is rolling out a new food service for inmates and multiple prisons, and Limestone Correctional Facility is on the list.
The new meal option comes from a program called iCare Fresh. ADOC says approved family and friends can buy freshly prepared restaurant meals to be delivered to inmates. The prison systems describes it as an incentive-based program to reward good behavior and build inmate self-worth. Officials say this also aims to enhance security.
To be eligible, inmates must not have any disciplinary infractions within the last six months. They must also not be in any restricted housing…
