KlezFest brings Jewish music, food and community together in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The sounds of Klezmer music filled the Jewish Community Center of Syracuse Sunday as KlezFest returned for an afternoon celebrating Jewish culture, food and community.

The free festival featured traditional music, kosher food, a challah bake-off, yard games, crafts, a puppet show and booths highlighting local organizations. Emmy Award-winning songwriter Hughie Stone-Fish returned as the festival’s master of ceremonies.

For festival coordinator Alec Erlebacher, the event is about introducing people to Jewish traditions while creating a space for the broader Central New York community to come together…
