WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) -The heat continues to be the big concern across the Cape Fear. Monday and Tuesday are First Alert Weather Days, with the best shot at 105-110+ heat index values.
For the rest of today, Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures won’t be quite as extreme, but the combination of heat and humidity will still make it feel uncomfortable outside.
We’ll also have to keep an eye on the sky each day for a few pop-up thunderstorms. Rain chances run around 30% today, just 10% Monday, 20% Tuesday, 40% Wednesday and 30% Thursday. Most of the storms will be scattered, but any storm that develops could bring a quick downpour, frequent lightning and some strong wind gusts…
