The U.S. Constitution and Islam’s sharia law “cannot coexist,” Robert Spencer told Newsmax on Sunday.
Spencer, who runs the Jihad Watch blog and is the author of “The Tragedy of Islam: Failure and Excuses,” told Newsmax’s “Sunday Agenda” that Americans should take seriously the debate over Islamic law amid controversy surrounding plans for a new mosque and Islamic center in McKinney, Texas.
“Sharia is an all-encompassing system of laws that covers every aspect of life,” Spencer said, arguing that it conflicts with constitutional protections and U.S. law. “It’s either going to be the U.S. Constitution or sharia, but the two of them cannot coexist.”…
