LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 17, 2026) – As a new school year approaches, the effort to provide safety with assured security for students, teachers and staff in Michigan schools has been augmented.
Last Friday, 26 law enforcement officers from eight county sheriffs’ offices, 18 local police departments, and one from Lancaster, Pennsylvania participated in a five-day-long Teaching, Educating, and Mentoring School Liaison Program, held by the Michigan State Police in Lansing. During the 40 hours of instruction, attendees received instruction in student-juvenile psychology, classroom management, and public speaking.
