Usually, special movie screenings are celebrated with themed popcorn buckets, souvenir cups or posters. A 1974 classic, however, is being honored with a chain saw giveaway.
Texas Chain Saw Day, on Aug. 18, is a nationwide celebration of the day “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” was released, and the day Leatherface fictionally terrorizes a group of friends. In participation, Brenden Theatres in downtown Modesto will have a one-night showing of the 103-minute film by Tobe Hooper.
Here’s the kicker: Brenden Theatres is giving away a Craftsman chain saw to one person who attends the special screening at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18.50 for adults, $13.50 for children and $13.50 for seniors…
