A driver struck and killed an Oakland man in his 60s Saturday night in North Oakland, police said.
The man was killed near Mosswood Park at West MacArthur Boulevard and Webster Street at about 8:30 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found an unresponsive pedestrian lying in the roadway. Paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he later died, police said. The man had been in the roadway when a motorist traveling eastbound on West MacArthur Boulevard hit him. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of his family. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have contributed to the crash, investigators said…
