Construction worker killed in Highway 50 hit-and-run identified

(FOX40.COM) — The construction worker who was hit and killed on Highway 50 last week was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

The California Highway Patrol said officers responded to reports of a crash involving a worker within a closed construction zone around 12:26 a.m. on Aug. 10 on eastbound Highway 50 near Stockton Boulevard.

According to CHP, the suspected DUI driver, identified as 24-year-old Ruby Lorenzo of Escalon, crashed into a vehicle, drove into a closed construction zone, hitting a construction worker, before driving away and hitting another car…
