One of San Francisco’s most influential bakeries is ready to open its first-ever location in Marin County.
Tartine will open its highly anticipated bakery at Mill Valley’s Strawberry Village on Aug. 19. Founded by Chad Robertson and Liz Prueitt in 2002, Tartine has expanded to Los Angeles and Seoul, and a Tokyo location was once on the table, but the new outpost will bring its famed sourdough loaves and morning buns to a local community that’s been clamoring for a Tartine for years.
“Opening our first location in Marin has long been a goal,” Tartine CEO Dar Vasseghi said in a press release. “Strawberry Village is an ideal home for us — a neighborhood gathering place with a strong sense of community. People have been asking us for this for a long time, and we’re excited to deliver on that demand.”
The bread will be baked in San Francisco and delivered daily, while pastries will be made fresh in Mill Valley. In addition, expect cakes, cookies and coffee. Breakfast dishes will include a soft scramble tartine with eggs, labneh, white cheddar, smoked trout roe and horseradish atop a country loaf slice; yogurt with house-made granola; and omelettes with herbs and cheddar…
