JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Stewpot Opportunity Center is offering water, cold showers and other cooling amenities to help people survive the extreme heat.
The charity also found a fun way to help people avoid the heat on August 17, 2026, through a snow cone truck. Javonda Stanton, Stewpot’s director of Shelter Services, said guests appreciated the special treat and the opportunity to cool off.
