New Starr Elementary School in Green Bay ready to welcome 500+ students

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Named in honor of Green Bay Packers hall of famer Bart Starr and his wife, Cherry, Starr Elementary School will be legendary in its own right.

The 140,000-square-foot school will serve 4K through fifth graders as part of the Green Bay Area Public School District’s consolidation plan that closed Kennedy, Keller, and MacArthur Schools.

“Planning for a building like this and all that led up to it was a big process, but it’s going to serve this community for decades,” school board member Laura McCoy said.

More than 500 kids will become Starr students when the school years begins in two weeks…
