WASHINGTON (KKTV) – On Monday, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced $96.7 million worth of grants and cooperative agreements providing funding for behavioral health services.
That includes money earmarked for:
- Unhoused people with “serious mental illness”
- Substance use disorder treatment
- Training and technical assistance
- Peer support
- Disaster-related emotional support
The Colorado State Department of Human Services is set to receive $1,135,245 in funds to help people transition out of homelessness. The programs funds screenings, treatment, rehabilitation, referrals for health care, job training, education, and housing, and a range of other interventions.
The Colorado Mental Wellness Network, based in Denver, is expected to receive $150,000. The grant is designed to “strengthen the capacity and sustainability of statewide mental health peer-run organizations.”…
