PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A Phoenix man will spend the next decade behind bars for his part in a drug trafficking operation that prosecutors say pushed thousands of fentanyl pills, pounds of methamphetamine and multiple firearms through the Valley.
Anthony Mead, 55, was sentenced Aug. 4 to 10 years in prison, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced Monday.
“Illicit drugs have no place in Arizona communities,” Mayes said in a written statement. “We will keep working with our federal and local law enforcement partners to get dangerous drug traffickers off the streets and hold them accountable.”
How the case unfolded
Investigators started looking into Mead in September 2023 after he became a suspect in a drug trafficking investigation. That probe led to his arrest at his Phoenix home on Jan. 10, 2024…
