Times are tough. Inflation increases, wages stagnate, government programs are cut and some families are struggling just to feed themselves and keep the lights on.
Portland General Electric is attempting to aid customers with that last challenge with its Income-Qualified Bill Discount program and reports that many eastern Yamhill County ratepayers, while eligible, are not enrolled.
Qualifying for the monthly bill discount, which scales between 15% to 80% depending on family size, requires households to be PGE customers who have a total gross income at or below 60% of the state’s median family income.
