Fairfax County, Virginia, accused killer who got insanity plea left country on one-way flight

A Fairfax County, Virginia, man who was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the slaying of his landlord has fled the country after getting temporary permission to leave a mental institution, court records show.

The Aug. 5 filing said Abdulloi Toshpulodzoda caught a one-way flight to Tajikistan last month while out on a weekend pass after someone else bought the ticket in his name.

The court documents, which were first obtained by WTTG-TV, said the Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office requested a warrant enforceable beyond Virginia’s borders to bring Mr. Toshpulodzoda back into custody…
