Cheatham County deputy shoots as wanted man flees Hwy. 70 market

A Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office deputy fired at a fleeing suspect’s vehicle Wednesday afternoon outside a Highway 70 market, sparking a chase that ended at a Bellevue fast-food restaurant.

According to a press release from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, a Cheatham County deputy went to Eddie’s Hardware Market & Deli, located at 8898 Highway 70 just outside of Pegram near the intersection of McCrory Lane, looking for Mark Boone, 57, who had several outstanding arrest warrants. After receiving information that Boone was at the market, the deputy arrived in a marked sheriff’s vehicle shortly after 4 p.m. Aug. 13.

Boone was allegedly sitting in his Jeep Compass when the deputy approached the vehicle. Boone allegedly ignored commands to exit the vehicle and drove off in the direction of Bellevue. The deputy fired at the vehicle and struck the rear passenger tire…
