Gwinnett’s GSMST No. 7 in the nation in U.S. News and World Report’s Best High Schools rankings

The Gwinnett School of Math, Science and Technology — which has ranked No. 1 in the state of Georgia for 14 consecutive years — is back in the top 10 nationally according to U.S. News and World Report.

The media company released its 2026-2027 Best High Schools national rankings Tuesday with GSMST ranking No. 7 in the nation. The Central Magnet School in Murfreesboro, Tenn. is the No. 1 school in the rankings.

According to U.S. News and World Report, the 2026-2027 Best High Schools national rankings identify top public schools based on six key performance indicators, including: student achievement on state-required assessments, strong graduation rates and college readiness measures. Schools are evaluated on how effectively they serve all students, including underserved populations, with college readiness specifically measured through student participation and performance on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams…
