ROANOKE, Va. — Opposition to Flock cameras in Roanoke is growing. Residents gathered outside City Hall Monday to confront the council directly.
Citizens question council’s stance
Bridgette Kelly Daring addressed the council directly.
“The majority of this council is in favor of Flock cameras. They should have no problem with their privacy being violated. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, right? ALPR cameras are a gross infringement of citizen rights,” Kelly Daring said.
Effectiveness questioned
Many argue the cameras are not delivering on their promise.
“And I would like to say that I believe that Flock is not a tool to aid in police work, despite what it’s been sold to you as,” Megan Lyall said.
