Storms could turn severe across the Kansas City area. Here’s what to expect

A weakening storm system moving across southeastern Nebraska could bring strong wind gusts to northwestern parts of the Kansas City region Tuesday morning, but a greater threat of severe weather is expected Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

“While storms are possible throughout the day, including early Tuesday morning in northwestern Missouri, the most likely timing for severe storms is from 9 p.m. this evening through the overnight hours across east-central Kansas and west-central Missouri,” the weather service said.
