A 33-year-old Springfield man was killed Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle on Beltline Highway near Delta Highway, according to Eugene Police Department (EPD).
EPD said officers responded at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Beltline when it struck the pedestrian, identified as Lazaro A. Urquia-Martinez, in the roadway. Urquia-Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative, police said. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash…
