ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- Albany County investigators are checking how a sheriff’s K-9 got out of her kennel before she was found dead on the Thruway.
Investigators were back in Ravena on Monday, August 17 at the home of the sheriff’s K-9, Casey, who was hit and killed on the Thruway over the weekend. Casey was an 8-year veteran of the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff said Casey somehow got out of her kennel and made her way to the Thruway, about a half mile from her handler’s home. Despite an intensive search effort, the sheriff said Casey was found dead in the highway median after she was hit by a vehicle…
