LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – Officials with Lansing Urgent Care say the organization recently experienced a cybersecurity scare, but do not believe any sensitive patient information was leaked.
In a statement to News 10 Lansing, the organization said it “recently experienced an outsider’s attempt to access our network” and that their security controls and protocols “immediately detected the threat and shut down our system, preventing that access.”
“Initial findings from our internal team and external technology provider indicate this was likely an unsuccessful security incident,” Lansing Urgent Care’s statement said. “We have engaged a third-party forensic technology expert to confirm no protected data was accessed or taken. The safety and security of our patients and employees is critically important to us. We’re thankful our systems acted as they should, and we’ll continue to look for ways to further strengthen the already solid data protection policies and procedures we have in place…
