There’s nothing like the entire Big Blue Nation tracking a court case in August. As Kentucky target Mark Mitchell fights for a fifth year of eligibility in court, other targets have appeared to fall away as Mark Pope hones in on the All-SEC transfer. Suddenly, a bit of new transfer news may have just hinted at Kentucky’s chances with Mitchell.
Murray State transfer Fred King has committed to return to Creighton, per Joe Tipton. That doesn’t seem like huge news at first, but a closer look reveals that King is in the same eligibility lawsuit as Mitchell. If one is granted a fifth year, so will be the other.
This doesn’t mean that either are guaranteed to win out, or that something special has already gone on behind the scenes. It does seem to suggest a sense of confidence in King’s camp, though, that should serve a similar level of confidence to Kentucky fans…
