NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man remains missing after Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officers said he went underwater while swimming near the Anderson Beach Recreation Area on Percy Priest Lake Monday afternoon and did not resurface.
TWRA responded to the missing person call at approximately 4:40 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17. Crews were back out searching around 8 a.m. Tuesday and continued a methodical search of the lake throughout the day. There was no sign of the man as of the search’s end.

A preliminary investigation indicates a man and woman were on the lake in a pontoon boat and had entered the water for a swim using a single pool noodle for flotation, according to TWRA. During that time, the boat began to drift away.
