Things to never leave in your car in this record heat

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Triple-digit temperatures and record highs with barely any relief in sight bring up a big reminder to never leave your pets or your kids in the car. That seems obvious when temperatures inside can skyrocket quickly, but there’s also a list of less obvious things you shouldn’t leave inside either.

“It’s very hot outside,” John Chenoweth with the Oklahoma City Fire Dept. said. “100-degree weather outside. It could be up to 120, 130 degrees inside that car within ten minutes, and within 30 minutes can be up to 160 degrees.”

The inside of your car gets cooking quickly in this heat, and leaving your children or pet inside can be deadly.
