More than two decades after Walter and Virginia Duhacsek donated their land for a public park, Fort Bend County is preparing a major expansion of Duhacsek Park near Sugar Land.
Fort Bend County plans a $9.2 million expansion of the 50-acre park, adding cricket and multipurpose fields, separate large and small dog parks, trails and a nine-hole disc golf course in the first phase.
The county assumed responsibility for operating and developing the Sugar Land-owned property under a long-term agreement approved in December, and officials expect construction to begin in early 2027. Later phases could bring pickleball and tennis courts, a playground and community garden…
