SOUTH ST PAUL, Minn. — The man who admitted to shooting and killing his roommate inside their South St. Paul apartment in 2025 waived his right Monday to a jury trial, while maintaining his plea of not guilty.
John Audie, 37, was initially charged with second-degree murder after a 72-year-old man was found dead sitting in a chair inside the bedroom of the apartment just before 9 p.m. on April 11, 2025. The victim was identified as Michael Schille. A grand jury later indicted Audie on one count of first-degree premeditated murder and one count of second-degree intentional murder.
