Elon Athletics rolled out a new visual identity Monday, shifting to the monogram “E” and Elon wordmark as its primary logo and introducing a redesigned Phoenix mascot.
The monogram — which has been a part of Elon University’s branding since 2016 — is meant to create a more direct visual connection between athletics and the rest of the university. The Elon wordmark, already familiar to fans, remains part of the identity as well.
“Our goal was to create a clearer and more unified identity for Elon Athletics,” Director of Athletics Jenn Strawley said in an Elon Athletics press release. “Making the monogram ‘E’ and Elon wordmark our primary marks strengthens our connection to the university and gives our programs a consistent foundation.”…
