Michigan AG closes Neil Friske investigation without filing charges

LANSING, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — Former state Rep. Neil Friske will not face criminal charges after the Michigan Attorney General’s Office said an investigation into allegations involving firearms, commercial sex and sexual assault did not find enough evidence to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.

The Attorney General’s Office said it had concluded its review of the investigation, which began with Lansing police in 2024 and was later handled by Michigan State Police.

The Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office eventually referred the case to the Attorney General’s Office after investigators found evidence indicating Friske allegedly paid for sex on several occasions in multiple jurisdictions, from Lansing to Northern Michigan.
