Know-It-All: The Pittsburgh Walk of Fame

Our newest class of hometown legends is ready to take its place in bronze. The second group of inductees to the Pittsburgh Walk of Fame celebrates ten iconic figures whose achievements helped shape the city — and the world.

This year’s honorees include Terrible Towel creator Myron Cope, dance pioneer Martha Graham, photographer Charles “Teenie” Harris, Steelers legend Franco Harris, entrepreneur H. J. Heinz, Oscar-winning actress and singer Shirley Jones, Penguins icon Mario Lemieux, Academy Award-winning composer Henry Mancini, beloved actor Jimmy Stewart and inventor and industrial giant George Westinghouse.

Each will be honored with a large bronze star embedded along the sidewalks of The Terminal in the Strip District, stretching from 16th to 21st streets on Smallman Street. Every star includes a plaque highlighting the honoree’s accomplishments and Pittsburgh connections, while a companion mobile app brings each story to life with photos, videos and additional historical insights…
