Water main break leaves Bridesburg neighbors waiting for water to be restored

A water main break in Philadelphia’s Bridesburg neighborhood left more than a dozen homes without water for hours on Tuesday as crews worked along Lefevre Street.

Crews at the scene on Aug. 18 said the water main burst, sending water gushing into the street. Video from earlier in the day showed muddy water flooding parts of the buckled roadway.

Neighbors said crews have been doing some type of construction on the street for the past month. They said the water main burst at some point during Tuesday’s work, shutting off water to 20 homes nearby.
