Castle Rock councilman accused of “quid pro quo” as some try to recall him

An effort to censure a Castle Rock town councilman for alleged ethics violations failed Tuesday night.

Councilmember Mark Davis represents downtown Castle Rock (District 4). He was elected in 2024 and his term expires in 2028, but some Colorado business leaders say he needs to be taken off the job now.

Tuesday night’s controversy stems from texts the councilman sent to a business owner who is leading the charge to recall him. While that censure failed, the recall effort is still pending.
