Google awards $1M to Fort Wayne City Utilities to improve water reuse, reduce withdrawals from local river

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Google announced on Wednesday that it is distributing $10 million across Indiana to support water filtration plants, with $1.1 million slated for Fort Wayne.

Leaders say the funding is part of the tech giant’s “commitment to responsibly manage water resources” in the communities where it operates data centers, which heavily rely on local water sources.
