MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two Memphis Municipal Court Judges are set to appoint an interim City Court Clerk following the dismissal of Clerk Sukita Johnson in April.
Johnson was sworn in as City Court Clerk of the Memphis Municipal Courts on January 2, 2024, and was terminated on April 7, 2026, by Judges Varonica Cooper and Kenya Hooks.
According to Memphis Municipal Administrative Judge Jayne Chandler, the action came after irregularities in the office were discovered following citizen complaints.
