MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Yesterday marked our third consecutive day of triple-digit heat and the fourth time in the last six days. We’ll come close to that mark again this afternoon. While slightly cooler air is in the forecast, it will take a couple of days to arrive
We’re still very hot and humid in many spots once again today, with highs warming into the upper 90s with a couple of locations possibly reaching 100°. Heat indices are slowly trending downward, but some spots could still see feels-like temperatures as high as 105° to 108°. Mostly sunny skies turn partly cloudy through the afternoon, and we’ll once again see better chances for showers and storms starting over the southern third of the state before drifting toward the River Region later this evening. Similar to yesterday, a few of those storms could pack a punch and include some gusty winds in addition to heavy rain and frequent lightning.
