Chesterfield receives federal funding for railroad crossing improvements

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) – A dangerous railroad crossing in the heart of Chester will soon be getting much-needed improvements in the future.

Chesterfield was awarded roughly $2.3 million to jumpstart improvements to the railroad crossings at Curtis and West streets through the Department of Transportation’s Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail Grant Program.
