NORTH PORT — Getting ahead of the “what’s that smoke?” questions on social media, North Port Fire announced a 157-acre prescribed burn would take place Wednesday at the Deer Prairie Creek Preserve.
The Deer Prairie Creek Preserve is a 7,335-acre natural site in Sarasota County between Venice and North Port along the Myakka River.
