Chatham County special needs mother concerned after child returned back home after quick school bus ride

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — A special needs child was returned home after a quick ride on the bus. Now the student’s mother, who wishes to remain anonymous, is speaking out about the incident.

Asmahan’s daughter has Down syndrome. She told WSAV she sent her daughter to school on the special needs school bus, expecting her to make it to West Chatham Middle School. Just 10 minutes later, the bus returned to her home to drop off her daughter.

“I was shocked when I saw that the school bus was back,” Asmahan said. “I thought an emergency had happened on the bus,” Asmahan said. “When I got her from the bus, I just asked the driver, ‘What’s wrong?’ She said she’s screaming and the others are quiet.”…
